Salace

That is what Ben calls salad (mixture of salad and lettuce). Both my kids now love salad, and I do too, which is a MAJOR feat! Why you ask? Well we mix dressings! (If you have ever lived with me, I'm a mixer. I can't decide on just one thing most of the time. I love to order something different than my dining partner so we can share. I rarely have just one type of cereal in my bowl at breakfast, and just like to have lots of variety. Much to Andy's dismay, Ben is really liking this "mixing" thing we do and now insists that cereal is poured in the correct order in his bowl.) So, Ranch and Italian. That's the secret! AND the lettuce is always the first part of the salad to go because it carries the most dressing! So poor Andy is often sitting at the table eating with three people who have mixed dressings. I'm sure he is so worried about taking us all out to eat someday. It's okay, he can commiserate with my dad and mom who STILL roll their eyes when I order in a restuarant.

Another reason I have come to like salad is the toppings! It's amazing how much better salad tastes when there are yummies on top. (Many thanks to Mrs. Baker so this little trick!!!) My recent favorites are red onions, craisens, and awesome Roma tomatoes. It seriously takes up half my plate. Tonight, Ben even asked for MORE salad, and Annie stole some off my plate! Wow! Love those mixed dressings....
